Two Decades on the Rails

As this train moves on towards Grand Central I can’t help but think of how many thousands of people have sat in these cars. The Bombardier Shoreliner IV, placed into service in 1996, have served Metro North and CDOT for over 24 years and are mostly used on parts of the line that are not electrified since these train cars get pushed by locomotive (which is typically located at the North End of each train).
