Spanning between Manhattan, The Bronx, and Queens – The Triborough Bridge services all three Boroughs by providing a means for vehicles to pass over the East River each day.
Originally opened in 1936, the three main structures which all meet over Randalls / Wards Island are each unique in their own way and design. For example, spanning between Randalls Island and Manhattan is the Harlem River Vertical Lift Bridge is the largest of its kind in the world.
